East Village

East Village is an area of East London that was designed and built as the Olympic Village for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games where 17,000 athletes lived. The area has since been transformed into homes for more than 6,000 Londoners, situated in 63 buildings and comprising of 2,800 homes. The development is set to grow further over the coming years with around 2,000 more homes planned.

The 2,400,000-square foot area also includes 25 acres of mature parklands, new parks and open spaces and more than 30 independent shops, bars and restaurants. East Village also has excellent amenities such as Chobham Academy, an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rated school for 3-18 year olds, an NHS Health Centre and community facilities.

The site is managed by Broadgate Estates and has been awarded various accolades including Property Week’s Development of the Decade in 2016 – in the large development category, Development of the Year at the 2014 RESI Awards, ‘Best New Place to Live’ at the London Planning Awards 2014 and the prestigious Mayor’s Award for Planning Excellence, 2014.
